About
SABA
My practice began as a quiet refuge in my early years — a way to retreat into my own introspection. Today, whether I’m wandering through redwood forests, exploring new cities around the world, or moving through the quiet rituals of my life, I translate my daily impressions into expressive compositions that hold both softness and intensity, stillness and wildness.
My work reflects my belief that art is not just something to be seen — it is something to be felt. Each piece marks a moment in my evolution; in placing that feeling on the canvas, I am learning to show more of myself to the world.
Outside the studio, I co-lead retreats that blend ecstatic dance with art as practice, guiding women back into their creative and erotic aliveness. I’m also committed to building community-rooted hospitality spaces through Third Place Consulting, where I transform vision into intentional, human-centered environments.
I currently live and create in a mid-century treehouse tucked among the redwoods of Northern California — a sanctuary that mirrors the grounded, soulful, and expansive qualities reflected in my art.
My work invites viewers into a world where emotion is honored, intuition is a compass, beauty is a form of prayer, and creativity becomes an adventure — one that is raw, honest, and alive.
Experience
I’m a painter, writer, and small business consultant. I studied oil painting and art history at the University of California, Davis, and held my first solo exhibition at the Tim Collom Gallery in Sacramento, California, at age 22.
My creative path has been wide-ranging and deeply experiential. Over the years, I’ve taught yoga, worked in professional kitchens, and owned and operated two restaurants, where I led branding, product development, and spatial design. Before returning fully to painting, I spent a brief chapter as a food and travel writer, with work published in Austin Monthly, Southern Living, Texas Monthly, and other digital outlets.
I came home to painting in 2023. It is now the central pillar of my creative life and well-being—a practice that continues to shape how I see, feel, and move through the world.
